Fab Fall Nails

Nail-Files
I know all the winter nail polishes have already come out but come on I barely feel like it is even fall. It’s 80 degrees today in Texas and we’ve had maybe 5 days of boot weather this fall. So, sorry if I’m just now posting these fab nail polishes, but winter is definitely not coming any time soon around here.

I was so excited when the new Pantone Colors came out a while ago. There are so many bright colors for fall, it makes me happy. I’ve been loving adding bright pops of color into my regular neutral fall attire to create a fun outfit. One of the best ways to spice up your outfit is to accessorize your nails! So, I have picked some nail colors that correspond with this fall’s “in” colors to help you find the perfect polishes for this fall. What’s even better is that some of these colors will look great in the spring and summer as well.

What are some of your favorite nail polishes for this fall?  Are you digging the bright fall colors as much as I am?

Finding God’s Place in Your Career

A couple of girlfriends and I started a Bible study recently called Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed: A Study of David.  It is so great to have a group of girls to get to together with every week to share in your love of Christ.  We are starting on week 3 tonight and I just cannot wait.

Each week there are 5 days worth of study guides to help you get more out of the Bible study.  The first week was all about recognizing God purpose for you, believing he will provide you with the necessities to fulfill this purpose, and knowing that your purpose is meant to bless and encourage others to follow Him.

I was so torn by this statement.  I am studying to be a nurse.  I do believe that God has called me to this profession, but I am unsure of how I will make His name known through my career in nursing.  I say this because as a nurse we are not allowed to push our views on other people.  We are there to make people more comfortable, and a person who is not a Christian might not be comfortable with a nurse sharing her faith in Jesus.  In the study guide I was lead to this verse:

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16)

From this verse I came to realize that my actions have to speak louder than my words.  I might not be able to proclaim my faith to other in the hospital, but I can act with a Godly attitude.  I have to show my patients the Lord’s work in me through my kindness, compassion, encouragement, and love for others.  I cannot be quick to irritation or anger even if my day isn’t going as planned.  I have to let God’s light shine through me.

My boyfriend feels like it is his Godly duty to help others in need.  If there is someone stranded on the side of the street at night because their car broke down, he always stops to help.  Many will not do this, me included, because they are scared of who they might encounter on the side of the road.  There was one instance where he stopped on the side of the road to help a man and his son fix their car.  He couldn’t get it fixed, and by this time all the mechanic shops were closed.  He found them a hotel and bought them something to eat for dinner.  Before he left, the man told him that because of his kindness, he knew there was a God and promised that he would take his son to church from that point on.  Because of his Godly attitude and his trust in God, a man was more open to God’s word.

This idea can be adopted in our everyday life.  You might not feel capable of sharing your faith with nonbelievers or career might not allow you to, but you can show them through your actions that God is present in your everyday life.

I'm Back!!

Hey girls!!  After my long break from blogging I'm happy to say I'm back!  I know one of my goals this summer was to blog more, but time got away from me.  This past summer was my last summer to enjoy as a college student without a full time job.  I really wanted to get the most out of my summer, so I was here, there, and everywhere.  I spent about 3 weeks in New Orleans visiting my boy, went to the Frio River for 2 weekends, had a fun girls weekend in Dallas, and even went to Mexico!  All these exciting things lead to a non existent blog for a few months.

I'm in my last year of nursing school, so I am going to try my best to post at least once a week.  Keep in mind I am super busy with clinicals, tests, and studying for my nursing license exam, though.  I hope to bring y'all fun filled posts about fashion, inspiration, and crafts!

I am featured as a guest blogger on one of my favorite boutique's blog today, Southern Jewlz.  If you would like to know more about how to style colored jeans you can check out my post here.  Don't forget to take a look around their website, where you will find some great fashion pieces for fall!

Happy Tuesday y'all :)
